As advise, my English is not pretty much, sorry. Guys, I wanna play Witcher with mods, and start trying to install some from Nexus. I am download Vortex and inicialized game folder, download mods and tap 'install' and 'enable'. Then, I start game in Vortex client, game launched, but no one mod is not be installed. I trying launch game from steam and exe-file in gamedirectory/bin. Dec 18, 2015 On Nexus Mod Manager, I have a far amount of mods activated, but non are actually working in game. NMM has created a directory called Mods inside The Witcher 3 folder. Local Disk - GOG Games - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - Mods. Script merger: Mod manager: Witcher 3 mod tools, also known as Witc. Never mind, I got it working in NMM. I had to select the root Wicher 3 folder, not 'The Witcher 3binx64.' Weird, because the exe is in the other one. And the mods go into 'The Witcher 3Mods.' I have the same problem, can you paste the exact directory of witcher 3's root folder? Please and thank you!

Greetings fellow Modders and yet to be Modders. I am MasterOfTheRings and I have been modding The Witcher 3 for around 1 year now. During this time I learned a lot of things, both in regards to general game creation and how The Witcher 3 by CDPR works.I thought that now the time has come to share my knowledge and insight on modding this game with the community.
If you are a (frequent) visitor to the Witcher 3 section over at Nexus Mods, you might have seen a recent publication of mine, the so called 'Content Creation Compendium' for The Witcher 3. It is my approach to accumulate knowledge on basic and advanced processes when modding The Witcher 3.
This is a work in Progress and I hope that many of you contribute here to expand and depen the CCC.
Initially I want to inform you on some basics on modding this game. If you are new to the Witcher 3 modding community you should read these few lines. If you know the drill, just skip ahead to the interesting part. So, for those who never set a foot into the Witcher 3 Modding – Land let me say this. You will need the following things:
Modding Tools
As for every game, its assets are usually not in a format we can easily access. Mostly it is game or engine specific files. To work with those one will need tools that can unravel the mysteries hidden within.Concerning The Witcher there is no actual official mod support like it was for The Witcher 2, where the community got a RedKit, which was a proper tool near to the one CDPR itself used to create the game. Since The Witcher uses its own game engine, the REDEngine specific tools are required. The basis behind the process of getting “normal” file formats to work with the engine is an application called wcc_lite, a less powerful variant of wcc which had been used in the official RedKit for The Witcher 2. And as it seems it is the usual handle for creating game content for the REDEngine used by CDPR.
ModKit
The only tool we got from CDPR was the ModKit, a light version of a possible RedKit that was expanded regarding its capabilities, but is now a AS IS and therefore still limited in its powers.First of all, you need to get this one.You can either get it on NexusMods or on the official CDPR Forum.
Simply install it on a place of your liking and choosing but I recommend that you set up a proper working space for your modding and install it there.“My modding directory has several parts. On the one hand I have a section where all modding tools are stored. Then there is are the game files (uncooked and exported) and my actual working space where all the modding takes place. So once you have decided where you want the ModKit to be and the installation is finished it is time to get some fancy toys to play around with the games assets and create something of your own. WCC_Lite UI
As you might have noticed there is no actual program or application for wcc_lite and all work has to be done with console commands. And that is something you do not want to have to do – especially when you move on to bigger mods with lots of assets.
W3Oven
There is a tool though that makes your modding life easier. You can simply download it on CDPR Forum. It is nothing more than a user-friendly Interface for wcc_lite but it comes handy and makes your work much easier. One of the great strengths of this tool is the fact that – aside from a Workspace Manager and an Export Function it lets you assign Texture Groups which will be important once you create your own Texture that are not part the games initial assets. All Texture file formats are included in a drop-down menu. Mazak qt 15n manual transmission. You just have to select the right one and done.
Game Assets Editor
You can do a lot of things with a tool such as W3Oven but some file formats of this game are only of use if they are in their “natural” dimension – so to speak. For that purpose, one will need a Game File Editor. Until recently this Editor by Sarcen was everything we got, but thanks to the tireless work of a couple of modders around traderain we now have a tool that was inspired by Sarcens ModEditor and now goes far beyond. You can download the WolvenKit at traderains homepage.
Third Party Software
Since you might want to do more than just tinker around with the games files in WolvenKit you might need some third-party software for that purpose.
3D Software
There are numerous great programs out there. I will list them below, but my favorite is Blender.

Graphic Software
If you need to change Textures of create new ones, these might come in handy, but you can take any that are available to you.
Visual Studio

You will need this free tool from Microsoft if you plan on working with existing game models that were uncooked and exported. You can download it here.
Modding Process
Uncooking – Exporting - Cooking
So once the basics in regards of software and tools are set we can move on towards the actual modding process. As you have heard and read in this guide, there are some processes involved in modding this game. They are called the following:
uncookingIt is something like cooking, but only reverse. Imagine you have the food and the table and now you want to create it on your own. You move backwards through the entire process of cooking until you have the raw ingredients for the meal.
exportingBut the things you get out of uncooking are not the resources you need and most software cannot handle them. So, another step is needed. This one is called exporting and it exports specific file types (mostly those containing models) into a readable format. In our case this would be .fbx If you export files, make sure to export into the .fbx 2013 format because the 2016 format does not work with either Blender or Visual Studio. I have no knowledge on how it works with other software though.
cookingWell since there is an uncooking process there naturally is something that creates the meal. This process will change your modded assets to readable file formats for the game.

How to Install Witcher 3 Mods
If you do not want to deal with Nexus Mod Manager, you are in luck since installing The Witcher 3 mods manually is really easy.
1. Find the installation path of your game. For Steam users, it should be C:Program Files(x86)SteamsteamappscommonThe Witcher 3.
2. In there, create a new folder and name it “mods”.
3. Place your mod’s file inside the newly created “mods” folder. Be sure it is just one big folder instead of multiple different folders.

Nexus Mod Manager
First and foremost, you need Nexus Mod Manager if you are planning on modding The Witcher 3. Since all of the mods are in Nexus, this tool makes it a lot easier to download, install, update and manage your mods. Some mods can be incompatible with each other or may require certain installing orders, and this software makes it all easier.

13 Best Witcher 3 Mods
1. Debug Console Enabler
Like the first one, this is one is another must. It enables you to use the debug console to use hundreds of different console commands to fix stuff and do various different tasks like changing settings, freezing time or spawning enemies to take cool videos or screenshots.
Rti integration software. Integration Designer is a powerful, easy-to-use, Windows based software package that allows the entire RTI control system to be programmed from any PC. 2. Enemies of Rivia
While The Witcher 3 has a great combat, it can get repetitive after hundreds of hours of gameplay -like every game- and even on the hardest difficulty, you can master it pretty quickly. This mod makes each encounter much more exciting and challenging: enemies are smarter and faster and do different attacks as they level up instead of just hitting harder. Perfect for a second playthrough and can even be great for your first time if you love challenging combat.

3. AutoLoot
As its name suggests, AutoLoot does the looting for you after each fight and you can customize what you want to loot from your enemies’ bodies with filters. It also does not steal while auto-looting, so you do not have to worry.

4. More Shadows
The Witcher 3 has great graphics and lighting but for optimization sake, developers did not add shadows to every light source. This mod adds shadows to every light source you can imagine: torches on walls, torches that guards carry, large braziers in cities, candles, lamps and also tweaks shadow fade and autohide distances for all adjusted light sources. If you have a strong PC, this is one of the best mods to improve immersion.

5. More Blood
The Witcher 3 is an adult game from every perspective: brutal combat, grown-up characters and adult themes in its characters’ relationships. What it lacks is more blood. If you like gore like me in your melee combat, More Blood adds different blood trails for different enemy types and now Geralt can be covered in blood. Like the creator of this mod says it, “Tarantino Directors Cut”. Combine this with mod below, and you are in for a more cinematic combat.

6. Critical Slow Motion Combat Mod
This mod slows time every time Geralt lands a critical strike on an enemy, adding a more cinematic feeling to combat and making each critical hit feel more satisfying. Not a huge change, but definitely makes combat more fun.

7. HD Reworked
This mod reworks the textures and models to higher resolutions and brightness. It improves a lot of environmental textures like stones, rocks, bricks, roofs, walls etc. and adds new reflections and effects on water. It does not change the art style but even though it is optimized well to not cause any unnecessary VRAM losses, it can still add quite a bit of extra load on your computer so be sure that you have a strong PC.

8. The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition
This is one of the biggest mods for this game. It completely reforms the combat in many areas with the aim of increasing realism and immersion while not ruining the fun. It removes auto-targeting, so you can attack your enemies from all angles and Gerald attacks where you point him to. Dodging does not make you invulnerable anymore, there are 2 new attacks, being the kick and a new heavy attack, you can jump in combat etc. You can check the full list on the mod page below. It is perfect for a new playthrough.

9. Ghost Mode
This overhaul mod changes and rebalances a lot of stuff without taking away from the vanilla experience. The list is extremely long so you can check it on the mod page but some of the important changes are: quests levels and rewards are reworked, a lot of textual inconsistencies and typos are fixed, new damage formula and combat changes, reworked economy and ranged combat, difficulties are reworked etc. You can use it with an existing save file but it changes so much that it deserves its own playthrough.

10. FCR3
Developed by a senior gameplay designer at CD Projekt Red, this mod doesn’t aim for any deep and intrusive changes like Ghost Mode or Enhanced Edition, instead, it is meant to maintain original feeling of the game, sometimes going closer to the original intention behind the designs. It focuses mainly on fixing immersion breakers, buffing underperforming skills and items, cosmetic changes and bug fixing. It rebalances some stuff and makes the world more dangerous. If you want small changes that won’t change your gameplay but will improve your experience, FCR3 is your mod.

11. Increased Draw Distance
Another mod that describes what it does on its name perfectly. This mod increases your draw distance (duh). Since the world is huge and sometimes you can find yourself in wide open areas, the default maximum draw distance can seem a little bit underwhelming. Of course, this was done to optimize the game better, but if you have a monster PC, you can install this mod to see a lot more details in the faraway lands.

12. Realistic Weather
This mod changes the way different weather conditions look like and adds extra weathers to all of the regions. It adds more snow weather to Skellige, adds foggy weathers to every region of the game, changes the way rain and storm look like and some other minor tweaks. It requires Blood and Wine expansion to work, but if you do not have that awesome DLC already, you should go and buy it before even attempting to mod the vanilla game.

13. Fantasy Graphics
Witcher 3 Nexus Mod Manager Not Working Ps4
This is one of my personal mods; it doesn’t change a lot but it certainly adds a new layer of atmosphere by small tweaks. It rebalances the colors and removes the blue tint from the game and saturates most colors. Bloom effects are more expressive and interior lighting is better. All of these combine to create a more fantasy-like look which suits the game better in my opinion.
